OUR PROFESSIONALS

Stephen A. Laser​​​​

Stephen A. Laser, Managing Director, has over 40 years of experience in working with business and industry.  His interests center on identifying talent for sales and management roles.  He holds a Ph.D. in industrial/ organizational psychology from the University of Tennessee, and he is a graduate of the Management Institute affiliated Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.


Joseph Banasiak

​Joseph W. Banasiak, M.A., received graduate training in clinical psychology at Illinois State University, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.  He has over 30 years of experience in evaluating and assessing individuals in several clinical and job-related venues.  Since 1997, he has been performing pre-employment and promotional assessments for police, fire, telecommunications, and command-level personnel at Stephen A. Laser Associates.


Pamela Webber

Pamela K. Webber, Director of Operations, has over 30 years experience improving the operational systems, processes and policies in support of company goals.  She earned a B.A. in computer science with an emphasis on business studies and accounting.  Currently manages the systems and processes for the entire life-cycle of corporate data from the capture of assessment results, to its dissemination to appropriate parties, its archival and ultimate destruction.  Responsible for all accounting functions, employee benefit programs, technologies utilized within the office and administrative support for all psychologists.


Lauren Schmitz

Lauren Schmitz, Administrative Assistant, has over 10 years of experience providing administrative support for all services provided by our psychologists.  She earned a B.A. in environmental studies.  Ms. Schmitz currently handles scheduling, the administration of our testing protocol, and report proofing for our psychologists.

Our team brings decades of experience in the selection of public safety employees.   Rounding out the team with members from academia, including authors of curriculum and coursework, along with associate professors; as well as command staff of highly regarded police departments with decades of public service and policing experience, our team has not only a wealth of experience behind them, but are also current with best practices and trends as they pertain to the accurate and conscientious assessment and selection of law enforcement personnel and other high-risk professions.

Our team has an excellent reputation in a number of assessment methods including: entry-level written exams, individual psychological assessments, promotional interviewing, as well as assessment centers, fitness-for-duty referrals, and trauma debriefing.  The firm has been providing these services for over 40 years.
